Trend Alert: Jacquard Strap Handbags
Jacquard strap handbags are totally in right now. If you’re like me, you probably love following the biggest fashion labels to see what they design next. Louis Vuitton recently launched Spring collections that include new twists on their iconic Twist handbag and colorful bags with jacquard, guitar-strap style additions. The addition of the strap makes for a beautiful blend of textile and leather. I’ve come across a lot of other designers who are also now releasing beautiful jacquard strap handbags – Gucci, Ted Baker, Marc Jacobs, and Tory Burch, to name a few.
What I love about these straps is the versatility it brings to the handbag. Not only can straps be swapped out to match with certain outfits, but with some bags, the strap can be completely removed. With the strap, you can totally rock your bag on your shoulder or as a crossbody.
I love how these straps give a fresh, new take on a modern handbag. It shows that it’s totally okay to bring some fun design into accessories instead of just clothes and shoes. For instance, a monochromatic or neutral outfit makes a jacquard strap handbag pop. (As opposed to a monochromatic handbag with a patterned outfit.)
I also love how the strap almost blurs the line between lounge and formal. The bag could definitely be worn with a lounge set and the same bag can be worn with a LBD (little black dress).
Piece of Art
To me handbags are more than just a vessel to store our essentials. They’re a form of art. They’re a way to express ourselves. If you splurge on a designer bag, having the jacquard strap allows you to be able to make the most of your purchase by allowing you to ‘update’ it for years to come simply by changing out the strap.
